Who we are

Saturday Breakfast Outreach was started by Linda, cleaning a single room at the Magnuson Hotel while unhoused neighbors were staying there. Linda began helping to serve Saturday morning breakfasts for kids, greeting each child with a warm smile and a full plate. When the city closed the hotel, she didn’t stop—she moved the meals under the Shiawassee bridge and kept serving.

Later, with Mark Bozzo’s outreach building available, Linda and volunteers had a steady, welcoming place where people could get out of the weather, sit down for a hot meal, and have a conversation. After Mark passed, we honored his legacy by continuing the work he helped start.

This winter, we’re operating inside the CATA bus station, keeping Saturday breakfasts running and providing compassionate street outreach, hot meals, and community support every week. Together, we carry forward the care and commitment that began with that first cleaned room.

Saturday Breakfast Outreach is a volunteer-led street outreach known for its consistent, compassionate service to the Lansing Community. What began as a small act of service has grown into a weekly gathering with more than 200 people served.

We have been featured by local media for our faithful service to the Lansing community.
